The way software gets built has changed — but most planning tools haven't. They're slow, heavy, and built for reporting up rather than shipping fast. We think a project tool should feel like part of the craft, not a tax on it.
We've spent our careers wrangling Jira, Trello, Notion, and Linear — loving parts of each, fighting the rest. Every team ends up bolting on plugins and process until the tool slows the work down. We wanted to start from the opposite end: fast by default, opinionated where it helps, quiet everywhere else.
We started building Cadence in 2020 and launched in 2023. Every feature is built from scratch, with no legacy weight to carry — purpose-built to help product teams keep a steady, sustainable pace.
